Our Project
For this project each group has designed their own experiement for their tank. Our class has been split up into five groups, within these groups everybody has a job (to learn more about the groups and the jobs click on a tank page and learn more!) Each role is vital to complete the experiments. Throughout this project we are learning animal husbandry and marine biology. Each group is in charge of taking care of their tanks and everything inside. We do water changes, water tests, feed the fish, clean the substrate, etc. To learn more about each experiment click through the different tank pages!
What We've Done
So far this year our teams has gone on so many amazing field trips for biology. We went to the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Safari Park, SeaWorld, and Birch Aquarium, While we were on these trips we learned about animal behavior, how to take care of our fish, and what real scientists do. We got to speak with experts and learn about different animals. At SeaWorld we got tours from some of the aquarists that we have been working with and they showed us how they take care of their fish compared to how we take care of ours.
